2257 Compliance Statement

Where record-keeping obligations under 18 U.S.C. 2257 sit, and why they don’t sit with us.

THE SHORT VERSION
  • Vexycam publishes written reviews. We produce no visual content.
  • We don’t operate any platform, and we don’t work with performers or models.
  • 2257 record-keeping obligations rest with the platform operators, not with us.
  • Requests for those records go to the platform in question, not here.

What Vexycam Actually Is

Vexycam is an informational review and comparison website. We do not own, operate or control any video chat platform, webcam service, or content production of any kind.

We do not hire, contract, manage, direct or coordinate performers, models or content creators. We have never done so and have no mechanism to.

Everything published here is written editorial content: reviews, comparisons and guides. It contains no sexually explicit material and therefore falls outside the scope of 18 U.S.C. 2257 entirely.

The Legal Framework

18 U.S.C. 2257, part of the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act of 1988, requires producers of sexually explicit visual content to maintain records documenting that every performer was at least 18 years of age, and to make those records available for inspection.

The obligation attaches to producers. Vexycam is not a producer of such content, and so the record-keeping requirements do not apply to us.

Where our pages link to or discuss third-party platforms, any visual content on those platforms is produced, hosted and controlled by their operators. Responsibility for 2257 compliance, including age verification, document collection and record retention, rests entirely with them.

Where the Records Are Held

Vexycam holds no 2257 documentation of any kind. We do not store, process or have access to age verification records, identification documents, or compliance materials for any platform.

If you need to make an inquiry about 2257 records, contact the operator of the relevant platform directly. Each is required to designate a custodian of records and publish their contact details. We cannot provide access to, or information about, records held by anyone else.

Third-Party Content

We do not produce, host, cache, mirror or manage any visual material appearing on the platforms we write about. Any user activity, broadcast or content on those services remains entirely under the control of the platform operator.

When you follow a link from this site and use a third-party service, you are engaging directly and independently with that company. We are not a party to that relationship and do not participate in or facilitate what happens within it beyond having published information about the platform.

Our Own Standards

We don’t endorse or promote obscene material, and we reserve the right to remove any link, reference or association with an external service at our discretion.

Every platform covered on this site is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not publish content directed at, or suitable for, anyone under 18. Our safety guide addresses this directly, including our view that claims about supervised areas for younger users on random chat platforms should be treated with suspicion.

Reporting a Concern

If you encounter content on a third-party platform that appears to involve a minor, report it to that platform immediately and to law enforcement.

In the United States, the NCMEC CyberTipline accepts reports from anywhere in the world. In the United Kingdom, the Internet Watch Foundation does the same. Elsewhere, your national police force will have a route for reporting online child exploitation.

If the platform in question is one we link to, you can also tell us, and we will review whether to continue referencing it. That is separate from, and no substitute for, reporting it to the platform and the authorities.
