ABOUT VEXYCAM

How We Test,
and What We Won’t Claim

Most sites in this space present themselves as the platform. We don’t. Vexycam is a review and comparison guide, and this page sets out exactly how we test each service, what we’ll say about it, and where the money comes from.

Who Writes These Reviews

THE VEXYCAM EDITORIAL TEAM

Reviews on Vexycam are written and edited in house, published under our editor Lexi. One byline means one consistent standard across every page: the same things get checked, the same questions get asked, and the same rules apply about what we will and won’t claim.

The method matters more than the name on the page, so we’ve set it out in full below. If something in a review looks wrong, tell us and we’ll check it.

How Each Platform Gets Reviewed

Not every platform can be tested the same way. Some are free and fully open. Some hide their real features behind a paywall. Some have shut down entirely. Rather than pretend otherwise, every review states which of these three applies.

TIER 1 · HANDS-ON TESTED

We used the platform ourselves, start to finish. That covers sign-up friction, how fast it connects, whether filters do what they claim, how many real people are actually on it, moderation response, and how it behaves on a phone.

TIER 2 · FREE TIER TESTED

We tested everything available without paying. Premium features are described from the platform’s own documentation and marketing, and the review says so directly rather than implying we tried them.

TIER 3 · PUBLIC SOURCES

Some platforms are entirely paywalled, region-locked, or no longer running. These reviews are compiled from the platform’s own materials, public reporting, and user reports, with sources cited. No first-hand testing is claimed.

How Vexycam Makes Money

Affiliate commissions. When a reader signs up to a featured partner through a link on this site, we may earn a payment from that platform. The chat widget on our pages is a sponsored partner placement, labelled as such wherever it appears.

What that does mean: some platforms we cover pay us and others don’t. What it doesn’t mean: paying us doesn’t buy a better verdict. If a platform we earn from has a real problem, the review says so, because a review nobody trusts isn’t worth running.

Our full affiliate disclaimer covers this in more detail.

What We Don’t Do

  • · We don’t operate a video chat service. We’re not the platform, and we don’t moderate anyone’s chats.
  • · We don’t publish user counts or traffic numbers we can’t source. Where we cite a figure, we say where it came from and whether it’s an estimate.
  • · We don’t claim to have tested something we haven’t. That’s what the tier labels are for.
  • · We don’t leave reviews to rot. Platforms change, and a review with a stale date is a review you can’t rely on, so each page carries the date it was last checked.

Who This Site Is For

Vexycam and the platforms it covers are intended for adults aged 18 and over. If you’re under 18, this isn’t the site for you. Our terms, privacy policy, and 2257 compliance statement set out the rest.
