CooMeet Review: What the Minutes Actually Cost
CooMeet is the platform we earn from, so read this with that in mind. The most important thing on the page is that $9.99 buys twenty minutes, not a month of chatting.
CooMeet pays us a commission when readers sign up through this site. It is the only platform we earn from, and every other platform we review pays us nothing.
We’ve tried to write this the way we’d write about a platform that didn’t pay us, which means being explicit about the metered pricing and the missing country filter. Whether we’ve succeeded is for you to judge. Our free platforms comparison ranks CooMeet below several free options, if you want a sense of how we handle it elsewhere.
CooMeet solves the one problem no free platform solves: the gender ratio. Women use it free and are verified at signup, men pay, and the result is a balanced pool nothing free can match.
It’s metered rather than unlimited, there’s no country filter, and it needs a Google account. If those matter to you, a free platform will serve you better.
What CooMeet Costs, Precisely
This is where most write-ups of CooMeet, including our own earlier pages, have been imprecise. The subscription is not a flat rate for unlimited chat.
| Plan | Price | Minutes included | Per minute |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | Free | 5 minutes | — |
| 1 month | $9.99 | 20 minutes | ~$0.50 |
| 6 months | $29.94 | 100 minutes | ~$0.30 |
Twenty minutes on the monthly plan is roughly $0.50 a minute. The six-month plan is cheaper per minute but works out at around sixteen minutes a month, which is not a lot. Additional minutes are bought separately at rates shown at checkout.
You’ll sometimes see a promotional first month at $0.99 with a countdown timer attached. It’s genuine, but it’s time-limited and varies, so don’t treat it as the price. The standing monthly rate is $9.99.
The practical framing: CooMeet is priced for short, deliberate sessions. If you want to chat for hours, the meter makes that expensive and an unlimited free platform will cost you nothing.
Why It Charges Men and Not Women
Every free anonymous platform in this category has the same imbalance: the user base skews heavily male. That’s what open access with no barrier produces, and no amount of filtering fixes it, because filtering narrows a pool that’s already lopsided.
CooMeet’s answer is structural rather than a feature. Women use the platform free and are verified at signup. Men pay. The asymmetry is the mechanism, not a marketing choice, and it produces a balanced pool that free platforms can’t replicate.
Worth understanding the difference this makes. A gender filter on a free platform filters by what people declared about themselves, which nothing checks. CooMeet’s pool is checked at the door. That’s the thing you’re paying for.
The widget at the top of this page shows how many women are online at any given moment, which is a supply-side display most platforms don’t offer.
What CooMeet Doesn’t Do
No country filter. Gender matching is the entire product and there’s no way to narrow by region. Shagle gives country filtering away free, so if region is what you care about, CooMeet is the wrong platform.
No anonymity. Sign-up is via Google. You get a randomly generated display name you can change to anything, so the name you show people is your choice, but there’s an account tied to a real identity behind it. Platforms like ChatHub and Camsurf need nothing.
No unlimited tier. Everything is metered. There’s no plan that removes the meter.
iOS is browser only. There’s an Android app, but iPhone users use the mobile site.

Pros and Cons
- · Balanced pool, which no free platform achieves
- · Users verified at signup rather than self-declared
- · Five minutes free before any payment
- · Live count of who’s online
- · Metered, so $9.99 buys twenty minutes rather than a month
- · No country filter at all
- · Google account required, so not anonymous
- · No iOS app, browser only on iPhone
Who CooMeet Is For
Worth it if the gender ratio is your specific frustration and you’d rather have a short session with a verified match than an hour of skipping. The five free minutes are enough to tell whether that describes you.
Not worth it if you want to chat for hours, want to filter by country, want to stay anonymous, or simply want something free. In each of those cases a free platform does the job better, and our free platforms comparison covers which.
We’d rather you use the right platform than sign up to ours and regret it.
Common Questions
You get five minutes free to try it. After that men pay. Women use CooMeet free, which is how the platform balances its user base. If you want unlimited free chat, this isn’t the platform for it.
$9.99 for one month including 20 minutes, or $29.94 for six months including 100 minutes. Read that carefully: the subscription includes a minute allowance rather than unlimited chat, which works out around $0.50 a minute on the monthly plan. Additional minutes are purchased separately.
CooMeet sometimes shows a promotional first month at $0.99 with a countdown timer. It’s real, but it’s time-limited and you shouldn’t count on seeing it. The standing monthly price is $9.99.
No. Gender matching is the whole product, and there’s no way to narrow by region. If matching by country matters to you, Shagle offers that free and CooMeet doesn’t offer it at all.
Yes. Sign-up is via Google, and you’re given a randomly generated display name that you can change to anything. That means CooMeet is less anonymous than platforms requiring no registration, which is worth weighing if anonymity matters to you.
